WHICH PRECAUTIONS ARE HEIMSTADEN TAKING? (UPDATED 27-04-21)
---
Coronavirus (COVID-19) may give rise to questions or worries. Therefore, we want to provide you with recommendations on what to do to avoid the virus and where to seek information, if you are fearing contagion.

Read this article about how to avoid COVID tantrum here (in Danish).

For residents
When we meet at your home, you will experience that we do not shake hands and maybe we will ask you to keep at arm’s length. It is not a sign of disrespect but a precaution we take to make sure, we stay on the safe side.

We hope for your understanding in these cases, as we hope that you as a resident will help and contact for a new appointment, if someone in the household gets flu-like symptoms with e.g. cough, shortness of breath and fever.

Longer response time to enquiries can be expected.

How do we enter your home in connection with showings?
If you are moving soon and your residence is booked for a showing, Heimstaden will take some precautions when visiting. Both our letting consultants and guests will wear face masks during the showing. Due to legal matters you should let us in your residence personally, but you decide if you wish to stay at home during the showing - but we recommend that you go for a walk while the showing takes place (approx. 15-20 minutes).

You can discuss this in dialog with our letting consultants, so everyone feels safe.

If you are looking new home - and for future residents
We are conducting traditional open house events – with precautions (see below). We also offer safe showings 1:1 by by appointment. Longer response time to inquiries can be expected.
  • We will meet you outside, at the front door or entrance to the building - it is mandatory that you wear a face mask before meeting us (and during the showing)
  • We do not shake hands and we generally keep a distance of 1-2 meters. It is not a sign of disrespect, but a precaution we take to make sure that we stay on the safe side
  • If you are feeling ill/show signs of cough, fever or flu-like symptoms, you cannot attend the inspection but will have to wait outside
Please contact our letting department, they are ready to greet you with a smile.

All reception rooms are closed
In the light of the authorities latest ban on gatherings of +10 people – and for the sake of the public health – we are unfortunately obligated to close all reception rooms indtil the authorities adjust the ban again.

Regarding water and heat consumption accounts

OTHER QUESTIONS

Do special rules apply when using the common rooms and laundry room?
We understand that the COVID pandemic gives rise to thoughts and concerns. We have taken a number of precautions to reduce the risk of contagion - including an increased focus on cleaning and disinfecting surfaces in the common areas, laundy rooms and so on.

Still, it is important to emphasize that personal hand hygiene is key, so please remember to wash and desinfect your hands as often as possible. Especially when you have used the common areas, laundy rooms and other areas around the property. We also recommend that you wipe with a desinfecting cloth both before and after using the washingmachines.

How does Heimstaden handle cleaning of the corridors and stairways?
We have an increased focus on cleaning the common areas e.g. disinfecting surfaces such as handles, handrails and elevators.

Still, it is important to emphasize that personal hand hygiene is key, so please remember to wash and desinfect your hands as often as possible - especially when you have been outside.

What are the guidelines for children and playdates?
These days we get a lot of questions about playdates in the light of the corona situation. The National Board of Health has compiled a number of recommendations and guidelines for all families with children. You can read them here.

If you experience noise from construction work or renovation?
More residents experience being affected by noise nuisances in times like these, where more are staying at home.

In connection with the ongoing construction work on the property and in your homes, we understand that noise can be a distraction. However, we believe that it is very important for Danish workplaces that as much labor as possible is continued. We assure you that we are attempting to minimize the amount of noise, where it is possible.

If you experience noise from neighbours?
We all face an extraordinary situation that calls for adaption, reciprocity and a portion of patience. We are all affected by the fact that more people are at home throughout the day. Therefore, we kindly encourage you to be extra aware of neighbourliness and acknowledgement of each other’s situation.

If the noise is very distracting, we suggest that you knock on your neighbour’s door and politely have a talk about which arrangements or considerations can be made.
We hope, we can work our way through these special times in collaboration – and kindly ask you to pay extra attention on behalf of yourself and the neighbour community.

Prevent infection from coronavirus
Coronavirus is a family of viruses that can cause symptoms of a common cold, but also cause more severe airway infections.

Therefore, it is recommended to follow these general advices of hygiene:
  • Hand hygiene – wash your hands and perform hand disinfection regularly throughout the day
  • Cough and sneeze into your sleeve - not your hands
  • Avoid handshakes, kissing and hugs - limit physical contact
  • Pay attention to cleaning and ventilation - both at home and at work
  • If you are elderly or chronically ill - keep your distance and ask others to show consideration
With these precautions you protect yourself and others from infection.

When should you seek help?
Infected patients have displayed symptoms corresponding to pneumonia: e.g. cough, fever and/or troubled breathing

If you suspect that you are infected with coronavirus, contact authorities hotline at: +45 70 20 02 33.

You can read more on the Danish Health Authority’s website (text in English).
